Final Video
The title of my final video is "luna lunita." This is a line that my mom would repeat very regularly when she would point out the moon to me. I saw this as a connection to the words and stories ingrained in me because of my parents.
Growing up I was very fond of the storytelling that my mom did. To this day I am a strong believer that she is the best storyteller I know. She portrays emotion in Spanish in a way that English could never come close to. To start constructing this video I sat down with my parents and just asked them a bunch of questions that were centered around their childhoods and what it was like living in their countries. The audio being in Spanish, I pondered a lot whether I should include English subtitles as I knew a majority of my audience knows English. In the end I came to the conclusion that, as mentioned previously, the beauty of the words and stories my mom and dad tell can't be translated into English. I also believe now that English shouldn't have to be the default. I want the audience to sit in discomfort and not know what is being said and let the images do the work.
WAIT UNTIL THE VERY END FOR A CUTE SURPRISE
